So I work but I’d rather be spending time writing, thinking, photographing, advocating for social justice, playing with family, and eating in the Rockies up from Boulder. Which may seem strange since I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and have easy access to mountains and Puget Sound. But I’ve always liked being in the center of things and that includes the center of the country. Writing comes naturally and is why my bachelor’s degree is in journalism. And the social justice emphasis comes from belonging to a family of ministers who cared more about the plight and needs of our fellow humans than about convincing others that there is only one true way. Since graduate school (public administration), I’ve naturally gravitated to the third-sector. Politically left-leaning but increasingly cynical about American politics and economics.
